1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using First Voice ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
First Voice is a personal voice recording app designed for parents and loved ones who want to preserve precious voice recordings. The App allows you to:
- Record and store voice memos on your device
- Create a personal profile with a nickname, photo, and accent color
- Organize recordings into albums
- Sync recordings and albums across your devices via your personal iCloud account
- Transcribe recordings using Apple's on-device speech recognition
- Share recordings via the standard iOS share sheet
3. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
First Voice offers optional in-app purchases to unlock premium features ("First Voice Pro"), including lossless recording quality and transcription.
Subscription Plans:
- Auto-Renewable Subscriptions: Available as weekly, monthly, or yearly plans. Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Lifetime Purchase: A one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks all Pro features permanently.
Payment & Billing:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
- Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the same price.
- You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your Account Settings in the App Store after purchase.
- Any unused portion of a free trial period, if offered, will be forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
License: Your use of this app is also governed by the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA).
4. No Account Required
First Voice does not require you to create an account. The App works entirely on your device. iCloud sync is optional and uses your existing Apple ID — we do not manage accounts, passwords, or login credentials.
5. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- All content you record, store, and share using the App
- Ensuring you have the legal right to record any conversations or content — many jurisdictions require consent from all parties being recorded
- Complying with all applicable laws regarding recording consent in your jurisdiction
- Maintaining the security of your device and iCloud account
- Keeping backups of important recordings
6. Your Content
Your recordings, profile information, and albums remain your property at all times. We do not claim any ownership or rights over your content. Your data is stored locally on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your personal iCloud account. We do not have access to your content.
7. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content, features, design, and functionality are owned by First Voice and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
8. iCloud Sync
The App uses Apple's iCloud service to optionally sync your recordings, albums, and profile across your devices. Your use of iCloud is subject to Apple's terms and conditions. We do not have access to or control over your iCloud data. Apple's storage limits and policies apply.
9. Speech Recognition & Transcription
The App offers optional speech-to-text transcription powered by Apple's Speech Recognition framework. This processing may occur on-device or via Apple's servers depending on your device and settings. We do not receive, store, or process any transcription data. Apple's terms and privacy policy govern their handling of speech data.
10. Analytics
We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the App. No personal information, recording content, or individually identifiable data is collected. You can learn more about TelemetryDeck's privacy practices at their website.
11. Age Appropriateness
First Voice is designed for users of all ages and is intended as a tool for families. The App does not contain user-generated content from other users, social features, or advertising. In-app purchases are available but are not targeted at children. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children's use of the App.
12. Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the App to:
- Record conversations without the consent of all parties where required by law
- Store or distribute illegal, harmful, or infringing content
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
13. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- Recordings will never be lost or corrupted
- iCloud sync will always function perfectly
- Transcriptions will be accurate
We strongly recommend maintaining backups of important recordings.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, recordings, or profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the App.
15. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Termination
We may terminate or suspend access to the App at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the App.
17. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict of law provisions. First Voice is operated from Japan.
