First Voice is a personal voice recording app built with privacy at its core. Your recordings and app content are stored locally on your device and/or in your own iCloud storage. We do not access, collect, store, or listen to your recordings.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Profile information: Your chosen nickname, profile photo, and accent color preferences, stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account
- Recordings: Voice memos you create, stored locally and optionally synced to your personal iCloud account
- Albums: Organization data for your recordings
Subscription information:
- Subscription status: We check your subscription status via Apple's StoreKit framework to determine which features are available to you. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — we do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.
Information collected automatically:
- Analytics: We use TelemetryDeck for privacy-focused analytics to understand app usage, performance, and reliability. No personal data or recording content is included. TelemetryDeck does not track individual users or create advertising profiles.
- Crash reports: Technical information when the app crashes, to help us fix bugs
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app's functionality
- To sync your data across your devices via your personal iCloud account
- To improve the app based on anonymous, aggregated usage patterns
- To fix bugs and technical issues
4. Data Storage
Local Storage: Your recordings, profile photo, and app settings are stored locally on your device.
iCloud: If you enable iCloud sync, your recordings, albums, and profile are stored in your personal iCloud account. This data is encrypted and accessible only to you through your Apple ID.
We do not:
- Store your recordings on our servers
- Have access to your iCloud data
- Process or analyze the content of your recordings
5. Data Sharing
- We do not sell your personal information
- We do not share your data with advertisers, marketing partners, or third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes
- We do not use ads in the app
- We may share anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot identify you
6. Speech Recognition & Transcription
When you use the transcription feature:
- Audio is processed using Apple's Speech Recognition framework
- Processing may occur on-device or via Apple's servers, depending on your device and settings
- We do not receive, store, or have access to transcription data
- Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of speech recognition data
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data stored in the app at any time
- Delete: Remove any or all recordings and personal data
- Export: Share recordings via the standard iOS share sheet
- Opt-out: Disable iCloud sync and keep data local only
8. Children's Privacy
First Voice is designed for users of all ages, including as a tool for parents and loved ones to preserve precious voice recordings. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. All data remains under the control of the device owner.
9. Security
We implement appropriate security measures:
- Local data is protected by your device's security features
- iCloud data is encrypted by Apple
- Optional App Lock feature using Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode
10. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions
First Voice offers optional in-app purchases, including auto-renewable subscriptions and a lifetime purchase, to unlock premium features such as lossless recording and transcription.
- All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information.
- Subscription status is checked locally on your device via Apple's StoreKit framework.
- We may store a local record of your subscription status (active/inactive) to provide immediate access to features. This status is not shared with third parties.
